CALA Introduces Legislation for Transparency & Accountability in Referral Agreements
The membership of CALA indicated to the government relations committee and Board of Directors that there was a need for legislation that would establish full disclosure and accountability between referral agencies, residents, and assisted living facilities in their contractual relationships. As a result, CALA introduced HB19-1268, “ Concerning Assisted Living Residence Referral Disclosures”, sponsored by Rep. Singer and Rep. Van Winkle and Sen. Hisey and Sen. Todd.
The bill was introduced into the House, March 25th and was heard in the Public Health Care and Human Services committee on Friday, April 5th. The bill passed 11-0.
The bill now goes to the full house for consideration on seconded reading. The second reading date has not been announced. Please take a minute and email your House representative, asking for their support and passage.
